Tech Skills for Good

We’ve partnered with Aviva’s Bristol technology team to pilot a place-based approach to skills-based volunteering—connecting tech professionals with local charities to support their digital development.

About the Pilot

Running from April to September 2025, this initiative offers time-limited, expert-led support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations navigating digital challenges. Support is tailored to each organisation’s needs, ranging from advice on digital tools to guidance on cybersecurity and service delivery.

Why It Matters

Many charities face barriers to digital transformation—limited time, resource constraints, and a lack of in-house expertise. By creating structured pathways for tech professionals to contribute their skills, this pilot helps unlock much-needed support while fostering deeper relationships between the tech and VCSE sectors.

A Collaborative, Local Approach

This pilot builds on established models of tech skills volunteering and is rooted in the South West. It focuses on strengthening local connections and learning how place-based partnerships can create long-term impact for communities.
