AI Peer Network

The AI Peer Network, led by Tech4Good South West, is a place-based, peer-led initiative helping voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) explore and adopt ethical, accessible, and practical AI solutions.

Launched in 2025, the network brings together charities, social enterprises, and community-driven tech projects in the South West to:

  • Share real-world experiences

  • Build AI confidence

  • Foster locally relevant innovation

  • Address the unique needs of South West communities

The network is open to VCSEs of all sizes and stages in the South West with an interest in AI. Become a Tech4Good South West member today to get started.

Why it exists

The South West is home to a growing movement of people who believe technology should serve people, not the other way around:

  • 18.5k+ technology companies

  • 23.7k charities - highest per capita outside London

  • 44% of South West investments go to impact-led businesses - above UK average

We live here. We work here. And we care about the impact of technology on our neighbours, networks, and shared future. That’s why we set up the AI Peer Network - a comprehensive support ecosystem for individuals and organisations who want to use AI for good.

As well as peer-to-peer learning sessions and resources, the network involves an intensive development programme where selected members collaborate to build practical AI solutions for their organisations.

How it works

Peer learning sessions

  • Held online every 6 weeks, plus one annual in-person gathering

  • Topics include AI ethics, data privacy, practical applications, and implementation strategies

  • Interactive format with lightning talks, case studies, and expert input

  • A safe space to explore possibilities and address concerns

 AI Living Lab

  • Annual intensive development programme

  • Cohorts collaborate on building practical AI solutions

  • Themes change yearly (2025: “Data & AI Foundations for Custom Assistants”)

  • Milestones align with regional tech events like Bristol Technology Festival and Bath Digital Festival

 Resource library

  • Curated tools, templates, and guides to support your AI journey

 In-person events

  • Annual gatherings and drop-in clinics for hands-on support and networking

When you join the AI Peer Network, you’ll be part of shaping how AI serves people, planet, and places in our region. Ready to join?
