Small Things Matter

A commitment to #techforgood is not a nice to have, it is necessary. It is imperative we harness the ambition, passion and skills of our digital and tech communities to also consider and take care of our communities.

I can't tell you how upsetting these past weeks have been to see incredible businesses such as Shift close their doors and no longer able to deliver the transformative service design work to some of our greatest challenges.

The social sector is in crisis, lacking crucial funding and support that is most needed to the organisations taking care of the most vulnerable in our communities, and the very planet on which we exist. And this I'm only seeing through the lens of digital. The digital support, the risk mitigation, the resilience that the sector so needs to thrive in our digital first society.

We can do something. We can always do, something.

We can take action.

At the same time as we have a crippled social sector and urgent needs, we also still have a scaling and lucrative digital and tech sector with an abundance of skills and resources. A sector that must find more space to address social and environmental challenges now, and ahead of us.

We are here, we are ready.

I have been surrounded by the most incredible humans particularly over these last few months that have given the space to nurture and support Tech4Good South West in its reshaped, start-up, minimum loveable product mode.

We are ready to bring people and organisations from across the South West into our community, to lead and support where they most feel they can and want to bring skill, time, debate. Whatever your interests are, Tech4Good has a place for you.

I am passionate that this must feel like, and become a community led by each and every one of us, that we collectively shift and shape its journey, bring impact against our guiding principles, and that very many others join and shape something positive and wonderful.

This isn't just our vision - it's a community-led movement. A hub for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill matching, our goal is to make technology accessible to all, ensuring it serves both people and planet. 🌍

One Small Thing

Today marks the official launch of our brand-new campaign #OneSmallThing - a campaign that embodies the essence of tech for good. Join us in taking action, no matter how small it may seem.

I'm adamant that this community must evolve into a collective effort, moulded and guided by each and every one of us. We're charting a course toward impact, adhering to our guiding principles, and inviting countless others to contribute to something truly extraordinary.

What is the One Small Thing you can do? At the very least, join the community and be part of building something positive, and impactful for our communities.
